MORE THAN COMMON PRODUCTIONS -BEHIND THE LENS
Shannon spent his earlier years almost split equally between Nova Scotia and Vancouver B.C, and now is a 20 year resident of North Bay.
He discovered his talent for the camera by way of volunteering with Maclean Hunter and Cogeco in North Bay ON and Rogers Cable in Vancouver BC. Trying on those shoes off and on over the years, but never seriously pursuing it as a career choice, he decided later in life to take Canadore College’s Television Broadcasting and Video Production Program. He loved it and excelled along with others among the leaders of the Class of 2013 family . That was it.
It was a mentorship with his former professor, a highly regarded talent and owner-operator of Cinema Works Entertainment, whereby Shannon realized his vision and now owns operates More Than Common Productions. Throughout Northern Ontario he serves a broad range of clients with a focus on the art of visual storytelling in his editing style. Combined with his experience and passion for camera operation, he offers to professionally capture, create, document, promote or even broadcast live events that result in a media product specific to each customer.
As freelance a filmmaker photographer and editor, he has seen through to completion hundreds of productions. His work has servicing a broad scope of media needs. Whether helping produce stunningly shot and personally told wedding films to filming/documenting grant-funded projects, his other works/experiences/clients include: National organization awareness ad spots, doc-corporates for industry sectors that include national fitness training centres, health and wellness, law firms, science & technology , providing footage for Fortune 500 brands including a Canadian awarding winning titan of Canadian Brand recognition, every project is passion driven.
Let your passion be our passion.
"We recently hired Shannon to do Videography for our Kickstarter startup. I can honestly say that he went above and beyond. Not only was he professional, but he brought great ideas to the table. He had a huge hand in making our project a success! This would not have happened without his eye for detail, his thoroughness of knowing and delivering exactly what the customer wants and in a timely manner to boot (we had tight deadlines)..."
